Pom Pom ornaments kids can make! Tired of picking up pom poms and stuffing them back in the drawer/box/jar? Me too! Here are some adorable Christmas ornaments kids can make to get them off the floor for good!

We spent last weekend in the basement clearing out our teeny-tiny guest room/craft room/storage room/place where all the stuff to sell, donate, and pass along gets stacked and tossed. Once it was empty, Hubby Helper got to work on a seriously solid wall-to-wall workbench in our brand new art studio space! I am beyond excited!

In addition to our brand new industrial strength work top, there is also a perfect little niche for my easel! Within 10 minutes The Little Helper was Continue reading

At our house, not only does Santa get to feast on freshly baked Christmas cookies and eggnog (or a smoothie depending on what the Little Helper decides), but he is also gifted with special Santa ornaments, handmade with love.  Ever since she was tiny, the Little Helper has made sure that Santa gets a special present – she is often more concerned with making sure he gets his gift than about what might be under the Christmas tree with her own name on it!

Ornaments are always on our list of Christmas crafts to do over the holidays, and I have shared a number of Christmas ornaments kids can make in previous posts. You might want to bookmark them now and come back to them later – Reindeer ornaments, Pom Pom ornaments, Nature Inspired ornaments, or even Elf ornaments, and Grinch ornaments!

The Little Helper often gives her hand-made treasures as Christmas gifts to teachers, coaches, grandparents. and other special people in her life. And of course, Santa!

This year we thought it might be Continue reading

Christmas Eve Letter from Santa! The perfect way for Santa to let them know he is on the way, and encourage them to drift off to the land of nod so he can slip down the chimney and leave their special gift under the Christmas tree!

I want to share with you a little bit about our very special Christmas Eve Letter from Santa, and how it came to be. You see, the only unfortunate negative impact of running a Letters from Santa service to help Santa out is that my time is pretty consumed by it in November and December. Not only am I often a sleep-deprived (sadly) grumpy mama, I am sometimes a little lacking in the organizational department. I have gotten better over the years and try to get as much preparation done ahead of time as possible. I try to get Christmas presents purchsed by the end of November, and wrapped well ahead of time, and try to get the Little Helper on her cards and gifts early too.

24 Christmas Books for Kids that are perfect for Book-ish Christmas Countdowns!

Christmas books for kids – truly one of the best parts of Christmas. Snuggling up by the Christmas tree, or beside the fire, reading an old favorite to your wee ones under the Christmas lights cannot be beat! One of my all-time favorite Christmas traditions is our annual Christmas countdown with books. We do this every year, and I hope we always do. What surprises me most is that it is still the Little Helper’s favorite countdown (we do a few!). I hope it stays that way for years to come!

I have raved about this whole idea of using Christmas books for kids as a Christmas countdown enough in other posts so I will spare you the details here (though if you want some inspiration for your own you can read this post).

I thought it might be fun to put together a list of 24 of our favorite Christmas books for kids – one for each day of the countdown!

But before I do that, I just want to share 3 of my Continue reading
