Our little Elf Bellae will take on a whole new level of responsibility this year upon her return from Santa’s house at the North Pol. She will be taking a spin around the kitchen whipping up some adorable Elf on the Shelf cookies to surprise the family with!

It took me a few years to convince Hubby Helper that the Elf on the Shelf would be a fun addition to our family; a magical delight like Santa, and not a creepy stalker-like maker-of-nightmares. We bake up a batch of Gingerbread cookies for Santa every Christmas Eve. It’s a Christmas tradition I treasure (though trying to help Santa empty his heaping plate-full is certainly a challenge!)

Gingerbread Cookies. Just say that out loud and see what happens. I bet you can smell them baking…taste that amazing nothing-else-like-it flavor…and be instantly transported back in time to a distant and joyful Christmas memory. Or maybe it’s just me that happens to…but I don’t think so! 🙂
