At our house, not only does Santa get to feast on freshly baked Christmas cookies and eggnog (or a smoothie depending on what the Little Helper decides), but he is also gifted with special Santa ornaments, handmade with love.  Ever since she was tiny, the Little Helper has made sure that Santa gets a special present – she is often more concerned with making sure he gets his gift than about what might be under the Christmas tree with her own name on it!

Ornaments are always on our list of Christmas crafts to do over the holidays, and I have shared a number of Christmas ornaments kids can make in previous posts. You might want to bookmark them now and come back to them later – Reindeer ornaments, Pom Pom ornaments, Nature Inspired ornaments, or even Elf ornaments, and Grinch ornaments!

The Little Helper often gives her hand-made treasures as Christmas gifts to teachers, coaches, grandparents. and other special people in her life. And of course, Santa!

This year we thought it might be fun to leave Santa a little ornament tribute to himself under the Christmas tree!

Whether you are looking for a Christmas craft to keep them busy at home, a Santa craft for the classroom, or a craft for a Christmas party, these 13 fantastic Santa ornaments are sure to offer you some inspiration of your own!

Santa Ornaments and Decorations via Then She Made

These old school looking Santa’s are just so gorgeous, and really very simple to make – much more simple than they look at first glance! Some wool, a wooden bead, and a bit of felt (and a hot glue gun so parental supervision is required for the younger Helpers). Keep the hat up straight for a Christmas gnome, or flop it over for an adorable Santa!

Handprint Santa Keepsake Ornament via From ABCs to ACTs

For those of you who love those hand print keepsakes like I do, this sweet handprint Santa ornament will make you misty! And the fact that kids are always so keen to make saltdough ornaments makes this Santa ornament a win all around!

DIY Santa Belly Christmas Tree Ornament via Making of a Mom

Here is another simple Santa ornament perfect for classroom Christmas activities or for a kids Christmas craft table! Some fillable ornaments, a teeny bit of felt, and some sparkly red pom poms is all you need! I love the little jingle bell accent at the top too!

Wood Slice Santa Ornaments via The Country Chic Cottage

This is a very timely Santa ornament for me! When we got our Christmas tree this morning, the Little Helper scooped up the slice from the bottom of the tree and whispered in my ear she was making a Christmas ornament for Hubby Helper. She is super keen to get started…and while she has plans to stamp it, I wonder if she will love this painted Santa as much as I do?!

PomPom Santa via Just Crafty Enough

Another little Gnome Santa for you! Once again, a pom pom, a wood bead and a scrap of felt and bam…Santa is ready to hang on the tree!

Santa Painted Ornament via My Sister’s Suitcase

I think these lovely Santa and Rudolph ornaments are very clever. I have honestly never been a fan of the flat fillable ornaments, though for some reason we have a bunch of them hanging about the craft room. I don’t think the round ornaments would have had the same impact, especially for little Rudolph!

Santa Hand Ornament via The Gaines Gang

Another sentimental hand print Santa. This time all you really need is paper, paint and pom poms. I think the bell on the top of Santa’s hat is adorable, and really like the hanger too – very pretty!

Craft Sticks Santa Craft Ornament via Easy Peasy and Fun

I love these craft stick Santa ornaments! So much, in fact, that I have actually shared these same ornaments in previous posts, like this Elf Craft post, and in this one of reindeer ornaments!I really love this googly-eyed popsicle stick Santa! Chances are you already have everything you need – some cotton balls for Santa’s hat and beard, and a red pom pom for Santa’s nose!

Santa Handprint Craft Ornament via The Best Ideas for Kids

Look at that teeny-tiny little handprint! Just imagine how cute this little Santa would be on your tree! And wouldn’t Grandma love one too?

Santa Claus Handprint

Santa Star Christmas Ornament via Buggy and Buddy

I think these little Santa Star ornaments are simply adorable! You could use either cardstock or thin wooden craft stars as your base, then just let the kids freestyle their Santa!

Christmas Santa Salt Dough Handprint Ornaments via Everything Mummy

The Little Helper has been at me for days now to do some saltdough ornaments. This is a nice, bright take on the handprint Santa that really pops! And might be popping out of our kitchen later in the week :).  Actually, now that I think of it, it’s kind or amazing the Christmas tree stays upright with the weight of years worth of salt dough ornaments!!

Thumbprint Christmas Ornaments via pinterest via Meet the Dubiens

Sadly, this blog seems to have disappeared. I have looked for it in the past as I have come across other images that I liked. However, the image of this sweet Santa thumbprint ornament should be quite simple to replicate!
