Are you getting that panicky feeling, as December 1 looms, and you haven’t gotten your Christmas Countdown ready to go yet? A printable advent calendar might be just the solution you need!
Oh I know just how that feels. Mainly because it happens to me pretty much every year. Somehow, the calendar flips from November 15 to December 1 almost overnight, and my grand plans for Pinterest worthy Christmas Countdowns become a rapidly fading dream…again. And yet, we seem to have started a ritual of at least 3 different countdowns (what was I thinking!). And of course that cheeky little Elf on the Shelf of ours also gets up to mischief every night, and she often asks me to help plan her next prank. I have a funny feeling you can relate! Busy busy time, am I right?
Here is what it looks like at our house…
We have always done a Book Christmas Countdown, which is my favorite (and the Littlest Helper’s too). While every year I have intentions of having every book wrapped and displayed beautifully under the Christmas tree come December first, I inevitably end up digging through the Christmas book tote every night before bed-time and stuffing one into the book bag, or some years, throwing some tissue paper around it – no time for tape! If you like this idea, I wrote this post here which includes a book list and 3 simple ideas for your countdown to help you get one done this Christmas!
Then we have the traditional cubby style countdown, that I inevitably end up foraging for to supply the first few days until I can remember to get to the shop to buy treats (then stealing, stuffing, and restocking on the sly due to that midnight chocolate craving).
Finally, we try to have an activity countdown every year as well – it actually helps keep me organized and getting the Christmas activity must-dos checked off the list! And I am often a couple of days late getting that one started, truth be told. I let myself off the hook by telling myself a third Countdown is pure indulgence anyway!
In any case, if any of that last-minute scrambling sounds familiar to you, good news … I am about to share with you 10 amazing printable Christmas Countdowns that will make this one less stress in your life!
First of, here are some fantastic printable boxes you can stuff with whatever you wish. A chocolate? A small toy? An activity? A dollar, if its a really bad week? 🙂
